We are back this week with another Halloween True Crime Story. Kendra brings us the tragic murder of Martha Moxley, still considered "unsolved" today. But everyone kind of knows who did it...
Greenwich, CT was the place you moved to keep your kids safe, especially if you could afford the elite Bell Haven neighborhood. But the illusion of safety was shattered for everyone in the community when the beautiful, young 15 year old Martha was found bludgeoned to death on Halloween...in her own backyard. How could something like this happen?? Police were not prepared to handle a homicide investigation and the case went cold for many years. 
20 years after her death, new information led to the conviction of someone that lived very close to Martha with ties to the Kennedy family.  He would be sentenced 20 years to life but would only serve 11 years before he was released on appeal. To this day, the Moxley family has no clear answers or closure for the senseless death of their beloved daughter. Let's discuss how money and influential family ties may have played into this miscarriage of justice.

Arpana was a beautiful, talented, wildly smart 24-year-old living her best life in Redmond, Washington. She participated in an apartment-wide Halloween party with other residents in 2008. This fun night ended in her brutal murder. The question still remains today, 15 years later… Who did it? One person was charged with her death, but he was acquitted, and for good reason. Let’s go way back this week to the unsolved mystery of Roanoke Colony. This was to be the first place for English immigrants to settle into the New World of America back in the late 1500s. Over 112 men, women and children took the long journey over for a new start, far from the religious persecution they faced in England. Unfortunately, it would not be the land of milk and honey they had been sold from those who traveled to the Outer Banks islands before them. 
They would be left to fend for themselves after what seemed to be an act of sabotage. Long story short, the colonists ended up on the island of Roanoke where they faced scarce resources, tensions with the local native americans and no way to leave. Their governor, John White, left to advocate for help and when he returned 3 years later, it was as if they never existed. All the settlers had vanished without a trace. The only clue left behind? A carving in the tree which read Croatoan.

It’s December 1996 and Juli just finished all her classes at the University of Oklahoma for her bachelor's degree in dance. Her parents are on their way up from Arkansas to help move her back home before Christmas. She said goodbye to all her friends and helped her roommate by driving her to the airport early in the morning. Juli goes missing. Her parents show up and quickly her missing case turns into a homicide case, when her body is found later that day. Fast forward 8 years and Anthony Sanchez is found guilty of the crime. But is he responsible? Anthony is scheduled to be executed on September 21, 2023. We discuss the tragic murder of Juli but also the evidence presented that put Anthony on death row. You decide. Is he innocent or guilty? If he is innocent, another young life will be lost.
